On Sunday, April 11th at 7:30, join the Stamford Symphony to support Haiti on the three month anniversary of the earthquake felt around the world. The event, a performance of Mozart’s Requiem, will take place at the Basilica of St. John the Evangelist.
Suggested donation is $25, and all proceeds benefit victims of the natural disaster. Specifically, proceeds go to Hope for Haiti, a charitable group founded by Stamford resident, JoAnne Kuehner that supports educational, nutrition and health care efforts.
As you may know, “requiems” are conducted in memory of those who have passed away, making it an appropriate and touching tribute. If you or anyone you know would like to honor a family member lost in the earthquake, they may provide a 100-word commemoration of that individual for the concert program. Those remembrances will be published free of charge, and photos can be added for a $10 charge. Corporate and individual sponsorships are available for $50 and up. For details contact ECarroll@StamfordSymphony.org or 203.325.1407 x14. There is no requirement to buy tickets in advance, but donations are welcome by visiting the St. John’s website.
