I've never been a fan, I'm still in denial, but every news source that gives a milli-crap about Stamford is eager to tell you that Jerry Springer has set up shop. For instance,
The Stamford Times,
The Connecticut Post, and
The Hartford Courant have all come down with Spring(er) Fever. The
Cityfile article on the topic felt a little sad and a little true: "Congrats, Stamford. We have no doubt a flood of classy tourists with high disposable incomes will follow shortly."

Honestly, if the arts center could have hired non-crooks to run it who could bring in acts a little more appealing than the The Smothers Bros and Tommy Tune year after year ...
"More importantly, Stamford officials report the city's struggling economy just got the big boost it desperately needed! Congrats, Stamford. We have no doubt a flood of classy tourists with high disposable incomes will follow shortly."
First, the WWE/WWF has been in Stamford for years, and Stamford is no worse off because of it. Jerry and Maury are a lateral move in quality.
Second, I love how Cityfail would apparently rather have Stamford reject an influx of needed income due to a look-down-your-nose opinion of entertainment. I don't watch those shows, but millions of people do, and as long as the programs keep the antics in the studio they can put whatever they want there AFAIC. In a perfect world Stamford would have 100% occupancy and could pick and choose its lessees. But we're not there yet.
